can't read lately
i've been a bit inconsistent with reading lately. what got me into reading was my curiosity for a few domains and of course, naval ravikant. in feb 2025, i felt sick. i couldn't do much except lying on my bed. i couldn't use my smartphone or laptop because my eyes would hurt. so, i grabbed 'the almanack of naval ravikant' by eric jorgenson. thank you eric jorgenson for compiling the work. see, the book is a compilation of naval's works(tweets, podcasts, blogs etc.). so, i started reading that. boy, i was hooked! it was like one of those books i can't keep down. i forgot i was sick. it changed my perspective and fused curiosity in me.
i started reading philosophy, science, maths, etc. to build "the steel framework of fundamentals". i enjoyed it. though i was still procrastinating. there’s another quote of naval’s that i try to remember in such a situation: "inspiration is perishable, act now". so, it was nice but again, not much productive.
recently, i got into web dev (i knew it earlier) but this time it's different, i know what i'm doing. earlier, i wanted to build clones. now, i want to build products. earlier, i couldn't comprehend docs. now, i can. earlier, i didn't know why i was learning this. now, i know.
along with that, i'm also learning machine learning which definitely requires mathematics. while i wasn’t doing anything in this domain, i was building my framework of fundamentals.. i built it for maths. still a long way to go but it's better now. so, last week i understood probability properly. nah, i didn't just try to cram formulas. i tried to really understand it. you are going to see a blog post soon. i don't know how soon since the days are kinda packed with a lot of things. but yeah, one day.
i have also refined my approach to my health and fitness. i'm gonna talk about this later but i'm gonna make a few changes. mindset is also equally important. it's what helps you do things the right way. i'm working on that. it's been conditioned improperly for the past two years so it's gonna take some time but i wanna work on that.
ahh, now the title of this blog post. well, i'll try to read more so that i can widen my horizon of perspective. when you read, you immerse yourself in the lives of different people across the world and time. it's priceless.
mostly, i read to find something. like a solution to a problem i'm having. i wanna try just reading for now.
tip : your env matters.
ps: i need to work on my writing.
